LOMIRA VILLAGE BOARD MEETING JANUARY 2, 2008
This meeting was called to order at 7:30 PM by Pres. Luedtke. Roll call showed all members present, in addition to Tom Kispert, Bill Gergen, Nathan Waas, Joel Nisleit and Brian Koll.
Moved by Tr. Schluter, seconded by Tr. Born, to approve the minutes from the previous meeting as read. Motion carried.
Atty. Bill Gergen, who is running for Judge of Branch I in Dodge County on the April 1st ballot, was present to introduce himself to the board. He left after a short summary of his campaign.
Tom Kispert of McMahon Associates, the village’s engineers, was present with a wastewater treatment plant construction update and he also left.
Village resident Nathan Waas was present to observe and inquired about being a write-in candidate on the spring ballot.
Moved by Tr. Born, seconded by Tr. Schluter, to table hiring an architect for the new municipal building/library until the next board meeting. Motion carried.
Moved by Pr. Luedtke, seconded by Tr. Born, to approve payment of the monthly bills in the following amounts: General Fund $57,625.23 and Utility Fund $45,168.91. Motion carried.
The Director of Public Works Report was given and discussed.
Moved by Tr. Born, seconded by Tr. Schluter, to approve pay request #8 from The Selmer Company in the amount of $390,998.24 for work done to date at the wastewater treatment plant expansion. Motion carried.
Moved by Tr. Schluter, seconded by Tr. Gornjak, to grant a tavern operators license to Rebecca Billington, 1385 Dayton St, Apt. 8, Mayville, for the period ending 6/30/08. Motion carried.
Pr. Luedtke assisted the clerk with drawing lots for name placement on the ballot for the spring election for village trustee and the results were: 1. Eugene Schroeder; 2. James Schneider and 3. Blank (Vote for Not More Than Three).
Committee reports were given and discussed.

This meeting was called to order at 7:30 PM by Pres. Luedtke. Roll call showed all members present, in addition to Steve Bauer, 4 members of the Friends of the Lomira Public Library, Joel Nisleit and Brian Koll.
Moved by Tr. Schluter, seconded by Tr. Schneider, to approve the minutes from the previous meeting as read. Motion carried.
District Atty. Steve Bauer, who is running for Judge of Branch 4 in Dodge County on the April 1st ballot, was present to introduce himself to the board. He left after a short presentation.
Brian Koll reported on the proposals received for the architectural and design services for the new municipal building/library. The bids were from McMahon Associates for $215,000 and MSA Professional Services for $228,000. Moved by Tr. Gilson, seconded by Tr. Schroeder, to award the contract for the building design to low bidder, McMahon Associates, for $215,000 to include project planning, preliminary design, construction documents and construction administration. Motion carried.
The board discussed ordering cluster boxes for Phase I of Lomira Highlands Subdivision and charging the expense back to the homeowners as part of the building permit costs. This will be put on the next agenda after some additional investigating is completed.
