Village Board Meeting
December 11, 2013
This meeting was called to order at 7:30pm by President Schraufnagel. Roll call showed members present with Tr. Liimatainen absent. Also in attendance were Katie Petrick of the Dodge County Pionier, Chief Mireski, Brian Koll and Jenna Rhein.
Motion by Tr. Stasson, seconded by Pr. Schraufnagel to approve the previous meeting’s minutes as emailed. Motion carried.
Motion by Pr. Schraufnagel, seconded by Tr. Lefeber to approve December bills as follows: General Fund $47,736.40, Utility Fund $52,680.08, Crime Prevention Fund $536.40, Promotional Fund $356.42. Motion carried.
At the November 27th Board meeting, Brad Hastings requested the Village provide fencing around one of the three outfield ball diamonds and around the play equipment at the Athletic Field. Motion by Tr. Schroeder, seconded by Tr. Hanke to table consideration to install fencing at the Athletic Field. A portion of the equipment at the Athletic Field does not sit on Village property. The Board would like written confirmation from the property owner that installing fencing would be appropriate.
Motion by Pr. Schraufnagel, seconded by Tr. Stasson to appoint Lila Ebert, Tom Gilson, Brigitte Gilson, Janice Haefs, Donna Hanke, Lloyd Hanke, Laurene Kietzer, Mike Kietzer, Jane Langenecker, Ruth Lehner, Marjorie Mireski, Ardell Priest, Bonnie Tagliapietra, Sylvia Waas, Kimberly Walsh, Loraine Weyer and Pat Zimmerman as election officials for the 2014-2015 term. Motion carried.
Motion by Tr. Hanke, seconded by Tr. Lefeber to adopt Ordinance #276 dog and cat rabies vaccination. Motion carried.
Motion by Pr. Schraufnagel, seconded by Tr. Hanke to adopt Ordinance #277 dog and cat license requirement. Motion carried.
Motion by Tr. Lefeber, seconded by Tr. Davis to adopt Ordinance #278 vehicles and play vehicles. Motion carried.
Motion by Pr. Schraufnagel, seconded by Tr. Stasson to award contract for building inspection services effective 1/1/2014 to Kunkel Engineering. Motion carried. Kunkel Engineering offered lower permit rates and good references. Kunkel Engineering is based out of Beaver Dam.
The current snow removal ordinance was discussed. Sidewalks must be cleared on snow within 24 hours. The police department will monitor properties and provide a warning for the first offense. If snow is not cleared in a timely manner thereafter, a citation will be issued. The police department and public works will work together to keep all properties in compliance. The Rules & Regulations Committee will meet to further review the current snow removal ordinance.
